[ KRDO ]: Looking ahead to New Year’s Eve Celebrations in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- Southern Colorado residents, especially those who have moved here in recent years, may be wondering where they can go to celebrate the new year.

The region has lacked a signature event, and has relied on a variety of smaller events to appeal to a wider range of people.

A new event this year is called Night of Magnificence; it offers dancing, food, drinks, gambling and entertainment; tickets start at $50.

The even will be held at COS City Hub, a new venue located at 4304 Austin Bluffs Parkway; for more information, visit: https://www.chieftain.com/story/news/2022/12/29/new-years-eve-things-to-do-in-pueblo-to-ring-in-2023/69764448007/.

TerryJosiah Sharpe is the CEO of Anthem Music Enterprises, one of two groups planning the event, said that the hub was part of the Discovery Church next door before the church converted it into an entertainment venue.

“They just understood that a lot of people are hesitant to come to any kind of a place that’s labeled any type of a religious name or title, or under the name of a church," he explained. "So why not create a space that is more inviting of the entire community?”

"The capacity here is 1,450 but we're cutting off attendance for New Year's Eve at 1,000," he explained. "We need at least 500 to break even. This area really needs a signature New Year's event. This location became available just a few months ago after another venue we wanted, closed."
